Getting Started with MixItOne
Welcome to MixItOne! This guide will walk you through setting up your account and running your first game session. Whether you're managing a tennis club, badminton group, or any racket sports organization, you'll be up and running in just a few minutes.
What is MixItOne?
MixItOne is a complete management system for racket sports clubs. It helps you:
- Organize game sessions - Schedule and run regular club sessions with automatic player matching
- Manage players - Keep track of all your club members and their skill levels
- Run tournaments - Organize competitive events with brackets and match scheduling (Pro feature)
- Track statistics - See player participation, session history, and more
Step 1: Sign Up
To get started, you'll need to create a MixItOne account:
- Visit app.mixitone.com or click Sign Up from the homepage
- Enter your name, email address, and choose a password
- Click Sign Up to create your account
You'll start with a free trial account that includes all core features. You can upgrade to Pro later for tournaments, player portal, and document management.
Step 2: Understanding Your Account
When you sign up, MixItOne automatically creates:
- Your Account - This is your organization's account. You can have multiple clubs within one account.
- Your First Club - A default club called "My Club" is created automatically
- Admin Access - You're set up as the administrator with full control
You can create additional clubs later if you manage multiple organizations. For now, let's focus on setting up your first club.
Step 3: Set Up Your Club
After signing up, you'll land on your club page. Let's customize it:
- Update Club Name - Click on the club name or navigate to Settings → Basic to change "My Club" to your actual club name
- Add Club Details (optional) - Add a description, location, and contact information
- Configure Club Settings - Visit Settings to customize:
- Player groups (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced by default)
- Public directory listing (if you want your club to be discoverable)
- Document templates (Pro feature)
Don't worry about getting everything perfect right away. You can always update your club settings later. The most important thing is to start adding players and running sessions!
Step 4: Add Players
Before running your first session, you'll want to add some players to your club:
- Navigate to the Players tab in your club
- Click "New player" button
- Enter the player's:
- Name (required)
- Email (optional, but useful for player portal access)
- Phone (optional)
- Group (select a skill level - you can change this later)
- Click Save
You can add players individually, or use the "Import players" button to bulk import from a CSV file.
You can also add players during a session if you forget to add them beforehand. The system will automatically add them to your club when you register them for a session.
For more details on managing players, see the Players guide.
Step 5: Run Your First Session
Now you're ready to run your first game session! Here's how:
- Start a Session - Click the "Start Session" button on your club page
- Configure Session Options:
- Courts: How many courts are available (e.g., 2, 4, 6)
- Player fee: Registration fee for the session (can be $0)
- Warm up time: Minutes before games begin
- Timer: Duration of each game (e.g., 15 minutes)
- Register Players - Use the player search to register players for the session. You can search by name, email, or phone number
- Assign Players to Courts - Click "Auto-fill" to automatically assign players to courts, or drag players manually from the "Sitting out" list
- Start Games - As games finish, mark winners (optional) to update player ratings
No internet connection? Download the MixItOne desktop app for offline sessions. Your data will sync automatically when you reconnect to the internet.
For a complete guide to running sessions, see Running a Session.
Step 6: Set Up Weekly Sessions
Once you've run your first session, you'll probably want to schedule regular weekly sessions. Weekly sessions let you:
- Define your regular playing schedule (e.g., every Tuesday at 7 PM)
- Automatically apply settings when creating sessions on matching days
- Set up different sessions for different days or times
To create a weekly session:
- Go to your club page
- In the "When we play" section, click "New time"
- Configure the session (weekday, start time, end time, courts, player fee, etc.)
- Click Save
When you create a new session on a day that matches your weekly session, the system will automatically apply those settings. You can still adjust them when creating the session if needed.
For more information, see the Weekly Sessions guide.
